Mount Rushmore!

This post is from my trip to Mount Rushmore with my mom, dad, Camille and Spencer. We left my house October 28th and got back home on the 2nd of November. We had such a great time. I am very grateful that my mom and dad love to take their daughters on trips.
The night before we left it snowed quite a lot. We were sure if we were going to leave on the 28th or the 29th. We decided to leave the 28th and stayed in Steamboat Springs. We had such a great time. The second night we stayed in Laramie because we were snowed in. The freeway had been closed for 2 days. We ended up taking a different route to Mount Rushmore, it was 3 hours longer but it didn't matter, we were having such a great time. The 3rd and 4th night we stayed in Keystone, SD. We were just 5 minutes from Mount Rushmore, we got there at night and were able to see them all lit up, it is pretty cool. We had a lot of fun while we were there. We also visited an old gold mine and took a tour of that, and the end they turned all the lights off so we could see what pitch black was, it was crazy. On our way home from Mount Rushmore we stopped at Crazy horse and checked things out there. We also saw Crazy horse at night, it is on the way to Mount Rushmore. On the 5th night we stayed in Cheyenne, WY. We had a great trip, it is a lot fun to spend time with family. Thanks mom and dad for taking us on the trip. The pictures are not in order sorry, hope you enjoy.

We visited the Wind Caves on our way home. They are pretty cool to go into, it is a pretty large cave and we didn't even get to see all of it because it isn't all discovered yet.

Crazy Horse Monument. It still has a lot more carving that needs to be done on it. It should be done in my lifetime. I will have to go back later on in life to see it finished.

This sign was just outside of the hotel that we stayed in. I thought that it was pretty fun to get a picture with it. Spencer loved it that he had to go back twice and get pictures.

We bought that candy rock at Mount Rushmore. By the time that he got done eating it he was blue.

Mom and Dad in front of Mount Rushmore!

Spencer in his Superman outfit for Halloween. It was Halloween the day that we went to Mount Rushmore. Everybody there loved to see him in his costume. He loved to be in it too. He had a lot of fun running around everywhere with his cape.

There is an airplane flying over the monument. I think that it would be pretty cool to fly over top of the monument. There were a couple of planes that flew over while we were there.

Getting ready to go to Mount Rushmore!!

Mom and dad in front of the falls in Steamboat Springs. It was so cold there but it was so beautiful. It is a short hike to it and really worth it. We had so much fun. It was so cold that I was wearing my jacket around my neck like a scarf. Spencer was completely dressed in his winter clothes from top to bottom. I don't think that he could move.

Super Spencer!

The Gold Mine in Keystone, SD.

Super Spencer to the rescue!!

The Falls!

The snow that we got before we went. By 4 that after noon Meeker had a foot and a half of snow. I was glad that we were able to leave and get past the storm. It was all clear in Steamboat Springs. Ready or not Mount Rushmore here we come.

He wanted to ride this horse, then when it started he wasn't so sure about it. Camille finished the ride for him.

This cat was in the Gift Store at Crazy Horse Monument, Spencer loved playing with that cat. He just sat there and petted it, it was so cute. Spencer loves cats, he loves to sit there and pet them. He is very soft with them.

Really fun pictures Sheri. I have always wanted to go to Mt. Rushmore so I'm jealous:). I wish we lived closer so we could do things together. Spencer is sooo cute by the way.
